Having lived in Palm Beach County for 30 years and raising my kids there
I had the opportunity to do the softball with my daughter and baseball with my son (who played one year at Hampden-Sydney prior to a preferred walk-on at N C State (end of baseball career). In the 90s both sports were really hot for scholarships and I had girls from my tournament teams that got scholarships to Alabama, Florida State and Florida plus some smaller schools. Once Florida changed from slow pitch to fast pitch in 1993 all that was needed was pitching to become competitive with the California teams and that got done quickly with clinics.
I see that your son went to St. Andrews which was a great lax and basketball school but was terrible at football and baseball at the time. My son played at Benjamin (which has since gotten much stronger at lax) and enjoyed the academic benefits over his local high school like your son...best move we ever made even though it hurt in the pockerbook!
